Welcome to the Lysterfield Adult Riding Club Incorporated web site.

The Club

Lysterfield Adult Riding Club Incorporated (LARC) was established in 1972. Club grounds are Ivens Reserve, Cnr Narre Warren North Road and Crawley Road, Narre Warren North (Melways Map 108 Reference G8). The grounds are Public Space, managed for the City of Casey by the Iven's Reserve Committee of Management. Several other horse riding clubs are based from the Reserve.

LARC Inc. has exclusive use of Ivens Reserve on their rally days. Events, twilight rallies and training classes are arranged throughout the year and these may or may not be booked as exclusive use events. Signage is posted on the entry to the grounds when exclusive use has been arranged.

The grounds facilities consist of a fully fenced weather dressage arena, cross-country jumps, a large grassed riding arena, horse yards, horse wash, a club room and toilets.

Membership

LARC Inc. take adult members (aged 18 years and over) only.

Committee

A management committee consisting of elected members operates the club.

Rally Days

Club hold their rally days on the fourth Sunday of every month except December which will be held on the first Sunday. The day is intended to provide club members with a social avenue to meet and interact with other club members and to participate in lessons offered by qualified instructors. Our rally day format consists of two one-hour lessons. Generally, the session times available are hourly from 9am till 2pm. Attendance fee for rally is covered in annual fee paid. All members must phone or email to book in to attend a Club rally. Bookings are essential to attend on rally days as we limit the lesson sizes to a maximum of six riders. Details of rally formats are published monthly in the Club Newsletter. Riders are requested to arrive in a timely manner so they are able to commence their lesson when the instructor is ready. Late arrival is disruptive to the class.

Please note, all riders are asked to assist either with setting up or packing up requirements for the day.

Twilight Rallies

During daylight saving months, the Club may elect to hold additional lessons, midweek, evenings, flat work predominantly, 6pm and 7pm timeslots. Members are advised via Newsletter and Web site when twilight rallies are scheduled. Such evening lessons do not include exclusive use of the grounds.

LARC Newsletters

A monthly newsletter is issued to all financial and life members of the club, via mail or electronically via email.

Uniform

The registered LARC uniform is a navy polo shirt with club logo embossed in pale blue.  These are available for purchase through the Committee. The Club also has available for purchase saddle blankets and baseball caps. Rugby tops will soon be available in club colours. Colour of jodhpurs is optional.

The HRCAV publish a calendar of events and entry forms in their monthly newsletter Chaff Chat. All competitors who participate in show-jumping and/or horse trial events are required to provide their own medical armbands.
